If TV is showing no cable connected, no signal, no video or has a black screen, follow these troubleshooting tips.
If the the TV screen is black hit the GUIDE button in the center of the remote. If the guide appears typically the best solution is to unplug your box for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
If the guide does not appear and you're getting one of these messages listed above first confirm that the cable box has power. There should be lights on the front of the box. The lights could be white, green, red, or blue depending on the type of box you have and its current status. Follow the instructions based on what color is on the front of the box.
RED LIGHT
If light is red then this means the box is in standby mode. Take the next steps to get out of standby mode
- Push the STB button at top right of remote
- Push the POWER button at top of remote
- If this causes the TV to turn off then turn TV back on and continue following the next steps
- Push the SET UP button at the top right of remote
- Push the POWER button at top of remote
- Light on box should no longer be red
- If light is still red please unplug box from its power source by removing power cable from wall or back of box for 30 seconds and plugging box back in
- If box comes back on and light is still red after a minute or so then box has most likely failed and needs to be replaced
GREEN or WHITE Light
If light is green or white then the cable box is on. If this is the case and the screen is still displaying no signal then TV is most likely on wrong input. You can use your own TVs remote to change the input/source if you know how to. Otherwise, use the following steps to change the input of your TV using the CTI remote.
- Push the TV button at the top left of the remote
- Push the TV INPUT at the top left of the remote
- The input list should appear somewhere on the screen
- Typically you can navigate to different inputs by repeatedly hitting the TV INPUT button or by using the arrow buttons at the center of the remote
- If you know what input your cable box is on navigate to it now and select it
- If you are not sure what input your cable box is on you can select each one until you find it
- The vast majority of the time it will be HDMI-1,2,3, or 4.
