Unplugging Equipment
Router or Gigacenter for Internet Services
Calix Routers:
Unplug the power cord from the wall.
(Figure 1)
Locate the square panel on the side of the router.
Press lightly on this piece and slide it away form the device.
Disconnect the fiber cord from the router.
You will need to return the power cord and the router to CTI.
Nokia Routers:
Unplug the router from the outlet.
Unscrew the bottom of the Nokia router.
Take off the bottom.
Gently push on the top of the Nokia router to slide off the case.
Unplug the fiber wire, and unwrap it from the top to completely remove the fiber from the Nokia router.
Put the Nokia router back together, and return the Nokia router and power cord to CTI.
Set Top Box(es) for TV Service:
Unplug the power cord from the outlet (see Figure 1).
Disconnect all three cords from the back of the device.
You will need to return the power cord, remote, and set top box per TV that you have CTI TV service on.
UPS for Phone Service:
Unplug the power cord from the wall (see Figure 1).
The unit and the power cord will need returned to CTI.
Other options:
If you do not feel comfortable or are unable to return equipment yourself, call CTI at 217-824-6398, or 217-608-0123, to schedule an appointment to have a technician pick up and return the equipment to CTI.
Returning Equipment:
Once you have all the equipment ready, it can be returned to a CTI office, located at 520 N Cheney St, Taylorville, or 1500 School St, Hillsboro.
If you are under contract, you will have 30 days from the time you return all of your equipment to provide proof that you moved to an area we do not provide fiber to. The proof of address change must include your name, new address, and a date close to or after service cancellation date.
Proof of address change includes:
- Address Change Confirmation Letter from the Post Office
- Utility bill
- Signed lease agreement
- Newly issued Driver's License (issue date must be close to or after the cancellation date)
If you are out of contract, you will not need to provide a Proof of Address Change.
Billing will stop once all equipment is returned and the balance due is paid.
